Uniform and PE kit

The school strongly encourages the wearing of school uniform. All school uniform can be purchased from Karl Sports Unit 7, Trafalgar Road, Kettering NN16 8DB, or through My Clothing. Our School will receive a 5% cashback donation on all orders placed through My Clothing's Uniform Embroidery Service. Further information is available in the leaflets below.

Should parents prefer to purchase clothing without the school logo, this is acceptable. However, parents should adhere to the school colours for the items listed below:

           Bottle green jumper

Bottle green cardigan or jumper

White shirt or polo shirt

White blouse or polo shirt

Grey Trousers

Grey Skirt/Pinafore Dress/Trousers

Grey shorts (summer)

Green and white summer dress

Specific P.E. kit of a white polo shirt and black shorts is required for children from Years 1-6. Children from year 1 upwards will also require trainers for outdoor P.E. activities, a long-sleeved top and black sports/jogging trousers for colder weather.

Children in Reception are allowed to wear any coloured shorts and t-shirt (but can wear the school PE kit should they wish). This is because if their kit is different it makes it easier to identify when they are changing in and out of kit.

A second hand uniform stall operated by our Parents and Friends Association is open once a term after school in the school hall for parents to purchase uniform at a minimum cost. (All proceeds go to Hawthorn School).

The school encourages sensible dark shoes for footwear. Dark trainers are acceptable (although parents should be aware that trainers are not the best footwear for everyday use!) Ugg boots, Crocs and open-backed sandals are not appropriate school shoes for school activities and are therefore not allowed.

Jewellery: No jewellery, apart from wrist watches and stud earrings are allowed in school. All jewellery must be removed for P.E. Children who have pierced ears are expected to remove earrings before P.E. and swimming lessons for Health and Safety reasons. It is the parent’s responsibility to teach their child to remove and replace earrings in order for them to take part in every day school activities. The school strongly encourages parents to think carefully about the timing of ear piercing to ensure that children do not miss out on opportunities in school.

Lost Property

A box for lost property is situated in the school. Items not claimed are regularly put out at the end of each term in the school hall.

Please label all clothing and footwear as without names it is almost impossible to identify lost items of clothing.
