The school strongly encourages the wearing of school uniform. All school uniform can be purchased from KSSchoolwearUnit 7, Trafalgar Road, Kettering NN16 8DB, or through My Clothing. Our School will receive a 5% cashback donation on all orders placed through My Clothing's Uniform Embroidery Service. Further information is available in the leaflets below.
Should parents prefer to purchase clothing without the school logo, this is acceptable. However, parents should adhere to the school colours for the items listed below:
Bottle green jumper or cardigan (with or without logo)
White shirt/blouse or polo shirt (with or without logo)
Grey Trousers/skirt/pinafore dress
Green and white summer dress
Plain white t-shirt (with or without logo)
Plain black shorts or skort
Plain black jogging bottoms or leggings
Plain black hoodie (with or without logo)
From January 2022:
Specific P.E. uniform of a white polo shirt and black shorts is required for children from Years R-6. Children will also require trainers for outdoor P.E. activities, a long-sleeved black hoodie and black sports/jogging trousers for colder weather. The black hoodie is available from Karl Sports, with or without a logo.
If representing Hawthorn in any sporting activity you will be required to wear the hoodie with a logo. See below for further information.
A second hand uniform stall operated by our Parents and Friends Association is open once a term after school for parents to purchase uniform at a minimum cost. (All proceeds go to Hawthorn School). Details are sent out via email and on the home page of the school website.
The school encourages sensible dark shoes for footwear. Dark trainers are acceptable (although parents should be aware that trainers are not the best footwear for everyday use!) 'Ugg' boots, 'Crocs' and open-backed sandals are not appropriate school shoes for school activities and are therefore not allowed.
Jewellery: No jewellery, apart from wrist watches and stud earrings are allowed in school. All jewellery must be removed for P.E. Children who have pierced ears are expected to remove earrings before P.E. and swimming lessons for Health and Safety reasons. It is the parent’s responsibility to teach their child to remove and replace earrings in order for them to take part in every day school activities. The school strongly encourages parents to think carefully about the timing of ear piercing to ensure that children do not miss out on opportunities in school.
A box for lost property is situated in the school. Items not claimed are regularly put out at the end of each term in the school hall.
Please label all clothing and footwear as without names it is almost impossible to identify lost items of clothing.
