Welcome to the Governors’ page of the Hawthorn Community Primary School website.
Our primary purpose is to work closely with the Headteacher and Pathfinder Schools Trust Board in ensuring the smooth running of the school. The Governors help decide school policy, consult and advise on the curriculum, monitor finance, appoint staff, fix salaries, arbitrate on matters of discipline and take a full interest in the life of the school.
The governing body meets every term to discuss school issues. It includes representatives from the community, the teachers and staff and the parents. Parent governors serve a four-year period.
The members of our Governing Body are listed in this section of the website. They can be contacted via the school on 01536 512204. Please ensure all queries or concerns have been resolved by the school following the complaints' guidance listed on the website.

We are always looking for new governors to support our vibrant school. If you have an interest in improving education and would like to make a difference within your community, please register your interest by emailing chair of Governors Jackie Brookes on jbrookes@hawthorn.pfschools.org.uk.
Letters will be sent out to parents if we have a Parent governor vacancy with details of how to apply for this role. This will also be advertised in our weekly newsletter.
