Fundraising for Wicksteed Park

Our Year 1 children litter picking to fundraise for Wicksteed Park. Thank you to Corey in Year 1 for suggesting this wonderful idea. Mrs Hill has even been on Radio Northampton with Bernie Keith to talk about this fundraising project.

As you will all know Wicksteed Park has sadly gone into administration. As a school we are very grateful and privileged to have such a magnificent park on our doorstep and would like to raise money to help support this very worth while local cause.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in our virtual litter pick on Wednesday. Under normal circumstances we would have loved for the whole school to have gone up to Wicksteed Park and completing the litter pick all together, sadly in the current climate that wasn't possible.

Some of our children in school donned the gloves and helped to clear up any litter from around the school grounds. We have had photos of many children in and around the areas collecting litter either up at the park or in and around their own streets. It has been so nice to see all the support everyone has given to this great cause.

As a school we have managed to raise a whopping £600!! a huge way from our initial target of £100. If you have taken part there should be a certificate heading your way so watch out on your dojo portfolios. We will keep the Just Giving page open until next Friday just in case there is any more donations to come in. On behalf of the whole school I would just like to say that we all make an amazing Hawthorn Team! Thank you
